New Zealand's Wade Cunningham has won the Firestone Freedom 100 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, his second career victory in the race.
Cunningham held off American J.R. Hildbebrand by 0.1 seconds to win for the second time since 2006. Mario Romancini was third.
Cunningham has two wins, a second and a third-place finish in five career starts at the historic oval.
The race was marred by two early crashes. The second sent Brazil's Ana Beatriz to the infield medical center after she touched wheels with Gustavo Yacaman, sending Yacaman into the outside wall and Beatriz sliding hard to the inside. Yacaman was cleared and released, and Beatriz was treated for a cut on her chin and later released.
The race is part of the Indy Lights series, which is the developmental circuit for IndyCars.
